1957 Fender Deluxe 5E3
1957 Fender Deluxe 5E3
Again, one of the most recorded and popular tweed tones ever. Zeke’s Guitars & Mercantile is happy to have in a great example of a Tweed Deluxe 5E3! From the slightly overdriven sounds, still with clarity, of Larry Carlton's solo on Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" to the sounds of Neil Young making these sound like they are caving in and melting. A Tweed Deluxe can cover just about anything you ask of it.
This one here is mostly all original, minus a period correct Jenson P12R and some caps and newer tubes that were replaced at some point, surely due to general maintenance. Seems someone was getting creative and put an empty Astron Cap housing around the pilot light holder. Ha! Another interesting thing, notice the Tube Chart reads "5F6", maybe printed on a Friday??? Three prong cord added.
