Here's a really great sounding 1961 Fender Super. It has been professionally serviced at Amphole in Burbank, Ca recently and is ready to go. This amp sounds fantastic with the very desirable harmonic vibrato effect, alla "Joey Landreth."
It started as an export model from Fullerton and ended up in Germany. (see the pic of the cool store label) When we acquired it, the speakers had been replaced with reissue Jensens. It had a solid state rectifier, (apparantly factory...see tube chart ink), a very early replaced output transformer with Chicago Std Transformer from 1956. The upper back panel and handle were replaced at some point as well.
I decided to have all the necessary work done to get it back to a tube rectified 6G4-A spec. Which was costly but now it sounds great, runs quiet and is rock solid for it's next home.
I found a matching pair of same year Oxford 10K5-1 with original cones. Replaced the power and output transformers with the proper spec Mercury Magnetics along with a full servicing. (see last pic for list of repairs and parts)
