1966 Fender Jaguar Sunburst
1966 Fender Jaguar Sunburst
This extremely clean Fender Jaguar from 1966 is such a cool guitar. Along with the much preferred by many Vibrato system, (sorry cousin Strat), and the really unique rhythm circuit and electronics, the Jaguar was way ahead of its time. Even though they weren't too well received until years later, these days they are gettin the love they deserve.
This one is completely original and in excellent condition. We're not sure, but perhaps the 5th and 12th dot markers...they look a little fancier than the others. No big deal though, right? One thing that is interesting is the bound neck with dots instead of blocks, which is typical of early 66.
There's a little buckle rash on the back, finish only. The first few frets have some minimal signs of wear on the beautiful rosewood board. A couple of lines of finish are missing on the back of the neck. Someone really babied this Jag but still played it a lot. There is gorgeous checking throughout the neck and headstock. The electronics seem untouched and function great. The case logo is missing the "F" but otherwise is in great shape. Plus there is a strap, Fender cloth, and CBS Fender Medium White Celluloid pick.
The frets are low, as they are original, and may need some attention at some point especially if you are a big bender. However, it still plays and sounds great as is.
