Here we have a S Style guitar built early in the career of world renowned luthier Roger Sadowsky. This one has tons of mojo from many years of honest pro player wear by the great Stuart Ziff. It's obvious this thing has seen many sessions and live performances, including his many years with the band "War." Look em up kids!
Stuart bought this guitar brand new from Roger Sadowsky at his shop in 1981 without any signs of wear. He noticed it while dropping off another guitar for repair and had to leave with it. This one is apparently the 2nd S-Style Sadowsky Ltd ever made. It's an alder body by "DiMarzio" and neck pocket has matching serial # 125.
Modifications
Besides re-frets, he had the 2 pivot Fender bridge installed. (original vintage style Wilkinson is included). He also changed the pickups to a Seymour Duncan "Cool Rail" in the bridge that pair nicely with the Fender Noiseless Middle and Neck. Even though the guitar plays and sounds great, some of the jumbo frets on the slim but fast neck could be pressed in or reseated at some point. The neck profile has been played/worn into sort of a really soft "V", but not really haha! Just comfortable! Especially for those that love a slim fast neck.
