Here we have another really great sounding Telecaster that has been played on the road for years by the one and only Rick Holmstrom. This one has been one of his main road guitars with his own band and the legendary Mavis Staples.
The body and neck are from Musikraft's Blackguard custom options. These are based on the coveted blackguards documented in Nacho Banos' The Blackguard Book. The neck is #4942 "1953 LG Baseball Bat" spec (see below) It was expertly finished by Steve Fazzio of Vero Amps. Rick has broken it in nicely with tons of natural wear and checking.
The hard to come by Don Mare Pickups were made for Rick and sound really great. (see pics)
Emerson Pots and a vintage ceramic disc .05 capacitor. Vintage correct and reissue hardware. Allparts pick guard.
Currently setup with 10's with medium action with no buzzing and rings like a bell.
